It would be great to have them at the polls giving away one each to the person's standing in those long lines tomorrow. Especially in the rain! A California girl can wish right wink.gif

Not fair for us who vote by mail! Also not fair that we don't have a Krispy Kreme nearby!

also Ben & Jerry's at participating stores from 5-8pm

We drove to our nearest starbucks this morning after we voted only to discover they closed it down yesterday:(

Not only that, but we were informed by our polling center that they were no longer issuing "I voted" stickers. wtf?

I'm uber grouchy.

If it helps, I don't think you need an "I Voted" sticker for Starbucks. It doesn't say so in the ad, at least. I voted via an absentee ballot and I plan on going there today. They better give me my free coffee!

Actually, at none of the places are they allowed to demand a "I voted" sticker. According to Federal Election Law, it's illegal to "bribe or coerce" people into voting which is what the freebies can be seen as. Starbucks got into trouble over this which is why they don't require the sticker and I'm assuming that Krispy Kreme has to follow the same rules.

My voting place doesn't give out stickers either, but if you're in a large enough city, there should be people around who can give you a sticker. My boss got one from some volunteer at some random corner, no where near his voting place or any other for that matter.

My voting place didn't have the stickers either! I was really sad abou that. Glad to know my voting place isn't the only one that didn't have them.

This is a great idea but be careful how you perceive this. I went into Starbucks this morning with my I Voted sticker and ordered a hot chocolate and they charged me because it only applies to "coffee."

Ugh. I don't have a Krispey Kreme or a Starbucks anywhere around here! darn!

Edited because "Krispey" only has one K in it :)

Yeah, I'm not into graft. Besides, after waiting an hour to three hours to vote, who wants to stand in line for another hour for an eighty-cent donut?
