Can you help me make an outfit around these shoes?

I'm hosting a shower for a very close friend in March and I still haven't figured out what to wear.

SFC posted these shoes earlier and I think I'm in love:

There's something very "lady-who-lunches" about this shoe (it's dressy, but I think the wooden heel makes it more casual) and the colors seem perfect for Spring (yes, the shower isn't really in the Spring, but I live in LA, so think springtime weather).  The shower will be in the courtyard of an adorable little French restaurant.

Can you help me put together an outfit to wear for the shower with these shoes?  I'd prefer a skirt (ideally a-line) and top.  Pants would be ok too, but I'd be sad if they cover up my shoe too much.  I don't mind buying something new as long as I'll be able to mix it into my wardrobe.

They're Steve Madden.  And there's a 30% off coupon good thru this weekend - FRDFAF05.

sweetheart button-down with a pink or light green cami/tank under.

This ebay seller has several of these BR skirts in different sizes.  I have it myself and it is so pretty in person.

That's an adorable outfit FP!  It's hard to tell from the pic of the skirt, but is it a darker khaki color or more of a beige-y color?  I like the idea of bringing pink into the look (the bride-to-be is obsessed with all things pink - you might understand ;) - so it would be cute to include pink in the outfit).

I would call the color of the skirt a light tan.  And yeah, I couldn't help myself, pink just seemed like a logical choice

FP-

That's so funny you picked that skirt. I know you have it too. I've already planned on wearing those Steve Madden shoes with my skirt. Did your's run big though? Mine is really big which sucks but I'll just have to deal with it.

SFC - how big does it run?  Should I order 1 size smaller than my normal BR size?  I was thinking of bidding on it, since it's so well-priced and I could definitely wear it with other things.

SFC, what other tops would you wear with the skirt and the shoes?  The one that FP posted is adorable but I'm worried it will make me look too busty (some button-down shirts do that).

Yeah, if I were you I would order down. I'm need to find a good alterations person for my skirt to see if they can take it in.

I haven't actually worn my skirt yet. It was wrinkled when it was sent, and I finally got around to taking it to the dry cleaners. I honestly haven't even thought about tops yet. I have a lot of cute cardigan/cami combos that would work. I like the idea of wearing pink on top though. I'm sure I'll also wear them with jeans too, but I wear every pair of shoes I own with jeans.

My skirt like that ran just like all my other BR skirts, I always get either a 0 or 2 at BR and I got a 2 in this one and it actually fits better than some of my other skirts from them that are a size 2.  It sits perfectly on my hips, maybe I'm wearing it lower?

Anyway, I've tried it on with light pink and it looks precious!  I think just about any light pink top would work.  I'll see it I can find some more and post them

I also have the skirt and I wear mine lower on my hips so I stayed true to size. I love the idea of the pink with the green shoes. Pink and green are always logical to me! Especially pink for a shower too!

Hmmm...  I'm also hosting a shower in the spring, and I might just copy that outfit FP posted...  I think it would go great with the italian theme.  Thanks!
