So I thought it would be a good idea to "skip" my period via the pill (aka go directly from one months to the next without taking any sugar pills). Turns out it wasn't a good idea. I have been spotting for 8 days!!! 8 DAYS! I am on Yaz, so my periods are usually 4 days. What should I do? Has this ever happened to any of you before? I'm dying here.

It's probably just your body adjusting. I used to take the pill continuously all the time (and now I'm on Lybrel, so I still do), and I never had issues with spotting. If you're planning to start doing this on a regular basis, I wouldn't think it would take more than a couple of weeks for things to settle down.
Some hormones/doses work well for skipping a period, others not so much. I tried to do same thing on Alesse after doing it with Seasonale (which worked) and it didn't work at all. Spooooooooootting, spooooooooooootting, for eeevvvvvaaaaaaah. Your best option is probabably to keep taking it through Saturday (assuming you're a Sunday-start) and then let the next week be your period week (no pills). You should be able to start a new pack after that and be back on track.
You could see how long it takes your body to adjust, if it will, but I must warn you I spotted almost 3 months straight before I gave up . Bitter and stubborn, now that's a combo!

3 months! Holy sh*t! I think I will take your advice and stop taking them on Sunday. Geez, thats the last time I try that!

I know! I kept thinking, it must allllmost be finished, right? Right?! No.
I have no problems skipping on a pill that's designed for it though, for whatever reason. I'd look into one of those (there are a few generics out now) if you're interested in skipping regularly!

I did that once when I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen. My cycle was messed up for two months, it sucked. But, it did go back to normal! I had much less spotting the second month. I thought I was all smart for trying to skip my period on vacation.
Usually for me the dose-changing pills did not work when I needed to skip because the hormone levels were so low by my 3rd week, I'd get it even if I skipped placebos and went straight to another pack. This happened when I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen and Low but not Ortho Cyclen.
i was at my doctor yesterday and asked her and she said i might spot until my next period (elle, you were right) so she said on sunday to just start taking my sugar pills. ugh.
