We've had our house listed for 5 weeks and she's barely done anything at all -- there's no communication, few people have walked through, she refuses to do the things we ask (add more pictures to the listing, put up a sign that's not beat up, etc). Other similar houses in the neighborhood have sold in less time, so it's not just us So we decided to just go with a different realtor. My husband offered to fire her because she's sort of a friend of the family (sold all my mom's houses in the past 20 years).
Anyway, she went berserk -- telling us the price was too high, we don't listen to her, etc. She then threatened us with a cancellation fee (which she won't be able to enforce, since we never signed anything that mentions it). She then went off and asked him how he'd like to work 5 weeks without getting paid. He responded that if she'd been doing her job, she would have gotten paid. He told her to just drop it, it wasn't working out, etc.
She screamed at him and said "Quit yelling at me -- do you talk to your wife like that?" At that point, he just said "fax me the paperwork...it's done." and hung up.
The lady is crazy. And then she let herself into our house (w/the realtor key) around dinnertime, supposedly to return our key. AND she's called twice and left messages about random stuff she supposedly forgot to tell us.
This lady is CRAZY! She's been in the business 30+ years, but I have never heard of anyone being so unprofessional! Yikes. Anyhow, at least we're done with her

Wow. That sucks. I can't believe she let herself into your house after she'd been fired. She sounds a little psycho. 5 weeks sounds like a long time to have a house on the market up there. Houses down here are going in a couple of days, but there are a lot less of them. When you get someone who will actually WORK, it should go quicker. I hope that's the last you hear from her!
OMG, that's crazy. Sorry you had to go through that, but I'd report her to her superiors & also to any Realtor Association she may belong to. People need to be warned about her behavior b/c it was COMPLETELY unprofessional & uncalled for.
That's horrible. It's amazing how many "bad realtor" stories I have heard in my life. I think there are really good realtors out there that have a passion for housing and selling houses, but I also think there are a lot of people in the profession that ended up there when they couldn't find other employment opportunities.
Having parents who have been in real estate for 20 years I can see how an agent can get upset but they should never do it infront of the client. Call her office and speak with her broker or file a complaint with the local board of realtors.
