I threw a party for this boy before he moved to France (this is my sort of penpal, for anyone who read that thread). I knew that he loves medieval things, cats, and a bunch of the cartoons from Adult Swim so with that in mind I made.....

chocolate cat lollipops

cookies featuring: a map of France that said Ted/Tours (his name and where he was moving, the dot inside the O is where Tours is located), figures from the famous Bayeux Tapestry holding footballs (the party was on Superbowl Sunday), and a character from the show Sealab 2021 (from a scene in which the character was wearing a medieval plague mask -- cause this boy likes this character and medieval stuff, get it?!)

and finally.....a cake in the shape of Meatwad from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Waving a (backwards) French flag!!

Check out the amazing likeness!

How big a dork am I??

Thanks guys!

For the cookies, I had edible images made. There are companies that print pictures out onto really thin sheets of some sort of sugary stuff. Then you just have to cut them out and place them on top of the icing.

The company that my sister and I use is Cake Art. It's kind of pricey (like $10-12 for an 8x10 page) but so impressive looking!

Monica - if you want to order cookies with photos already on them, check out this website:

http://www.dessertgallery.com/gourmetgraphics_round.cfm

you send them the pic and they send you cookies with the pic on it.  i've seen them in person and they look really good .  they're not cheap though, and i think you have to order a lot to start with.

cc - your baking looks so professional!
