Let me start off by saying.....I have always hated going to the dentist!!!
I went in yesterday because on my right bottom tooth I would get this pain whenever I ate or had a cold drink! So they said it was a cavity and I got a filling. It hurt so much....and trust me I've had fillings done before. But everytime she drilled on a certain part it just hurt all the way down to the nerve. She gave me anesthesia like 3 times. The dentist also said it would be needing a crown or if it kept hurting than a root canal! cry 

But that's not whats happening Wednesday!
On Wednesday they will be pulling out a tooth (well it's barely a tooth now) that looks like it has a big hole in the middle. I think out of the four sides it only really has 2. I am terrified!

Have any of you had a tooth taken out??? tears.gif

Don't worry! I had four teeth pulled before getting braces in high school. They don't knock you out but they numb your mouth so you don't hurt. It is a weird sensation to feel them pulling the tooth out, but you just hear suck-pop and it's out. I know some dentists let you listen to an ipod too, so if you do that you don't even have to hear the suck-pop!

The worst part of the whole thing was just how annoying it was to have a numb mouth all day.

I understand your hate for the dentist.  I use to hate the dentist as well.  I don't get numb.  I now go to a dentist that sedates me to do any work.  I have no issues going to the dentist now.  You sleep right through it and you don't remember anything.  You might want to consider sedation dentistry.

ITA.  I had some pulled when I was in high school.  It doesnt hurt, its more pressure without pain.
