My shower is in 2 weeks and I have been thinking of some ideas for outfits. In doing so I have been stealing some items from the daily style thread and hopefully I can put together something cute, yet comfy. So here are my choices. Let me know what you think.

OUTFIT #1

Old Navy $39.50

Banana Republic $68

Old Navy $24.50

Chinese Laundry

OUTFIT #2

Banana Republic $38

Banana Republic $68

Reaction Kenneth Cole 'Pretentious' Boot

I voted for #1 because it seems more girly and formal. I think I would pick a different top, though...I think the tie from the BR top might compete with the tie on the jacket. Cute stuff!

I went with #1 also and agree with halleybird on her thoughts.  I think #2 if you don't have a flat stomach may make you appear expecting...

What are you going to be doing for your shower? Also, is there a theme?

#1 might be better if your going a little more formal/afternoon tea type deal.

#2 seems a little casual/cocktails & appetizers

I love outfit #1 - and agree with halleybird, although that top is one of my favorites. Maybe a more simple camisole would work, although i love the combo of checks and lace... either way, i'm sure you'll look adorable - have fun!

I agree with halleybird.  I'm also worried that the shoes and the jacket are not a good pairing... The jacket is more of a neutral greyish green and the shoes are bright green.  I would try to pair the shoes with a jacket or cardigan that is equally as saturated as the shoes (but not in green). I could see a deep blue or raspberry blazer, the top you have shown could work or a top that integrates a couple of colors from your outfit like bright green and pale yellow, your pale yellow skirt and your green shoes.

hmmmm... I'm just not feeling it, Irene...

Ok - you have a couple pairs of fabulous shoes - that's a start.

you seem to be pretty fond of the lace top and yellow skirt... do you have some camel boots to put with it? that might look nice...

with the manolo's I could see your lace top with a red or black skirt... - you need something less soft for those shoes to work.

with the green shoes - what about the pink top and yellow skirt? I'm not too fond of a-line on a-line - but I'm just tossing out the idea.

I am assuming you are choosing clothes you already have in your closet? If not - what are your spending constraints?

ok - now for the green shoes - visited banana for this one - not too fond of the yellow skirt with it but it works a little - the top she has on definitely works with the shoes - still like the idea of a blue (not navy) skirt or pants

I second halleybird and detroit's opinions about the tie on the shirt and the shoes, and I'm also wondering about a theme.

I voted for #1

There is no theme for the bridal shower. And I don't have any of the clothes yet, just the shoes. But I was planning on buying the yellow skirt. -line is best for my body because I am not thin and it works really well with hiding my hips.

EDIT: What about this?

tweed patch pullover

melody skirt

I like the idea of forgoing the blazer and doing just the lace top and
skirt..

I'd do a metallic shoe to tie it all to together..

Preferably gold or champagne color with a roundish toe. The skirt and the
blouse look very sweet together so I'd do shoe that's not pointy to maintain
that look..don't know if that makes sense or not..

Ninewest had a really sweet peep toe that

I think even this wedge from Anthropologie might be cute with it (I'm not
sure if it is your style though

Irene, I like the one you posted with the lace top (I am so jealous, they sold out of my size!), the yellow skirt and Manolos.

Ooh--I like Ayo's idea.  Maybe cause I'm OBSESSED with those anthro shoes.  I think they would be so cute with the lace top and yellow skirt.  Here they are all together:

rubbed metallic wedgeaunt kitty suede clutchlily pad earrings

With earrings and a bag of a different color to add punch. . .

Hmm, I like the idea of a round toe pump. I willook into that, however I cannot wear such a high heel like the shoe you posted. I will keep looking.

Irene,

I really like the black and pink anthro outfit you posted, but which shoes? I'm not sure it would be cute with the Manolos. And I also really like the last outfit EJC posted.

Oh, and don't stress too much!
