I have this Old Navy blazer and I am not sure what style or color of top to wear with it.  I am planning on wearing it with light grey trousers.  I had my heart set on wearing a light powdery baby blue tank or cami, but I can't find one. Now I am not sure what to do so I am open to all options.  Can someone please help? smile

P.S. Thank you girls for you kindness to me.  Not ragging on another site, but I tried posting on another one for awhile and those girls were hateful if you weren't part of the clique over there.  You girls have already been so helpful to me and I am sure you will be much more help to me than I ever will you, but I will try smile

heather grey would be pretty, or black would work too. I would probably try to make it more funky by wearing a black skirt with it , textured tights in grey and a fitted grey tee.

If you can't find light blue, I think lavender or pink would work equally well - as long as the pink is a bluish pink instead of a peachy pink.

That is a cute idea.  I would have never thought of that.  Not doubting you,  but do you think they navy would be ok with the black?   I have a black sateen skirt and the jacket it linen-ish.  Do you think that would be ok to mix those two fabrics? I just tend to have trouble breaking out of the matchy mode but I am trying smile

I don't care for black and navy together, but that's a longstanding bias of mine. I think it's really, really difficult to mix neutrals the way you're describing. Usually when I bring this up, someone says "yes, but women in France wear black and navy together all the time."

Well, women in France are raised on style from the time they're tiny tiny girls, whereas women in the U.S. are raised on scrunchies and flip-flops. Most of us simply don't have it in us to do it properly.

C'est mes deux centimes...

I love navy and black together, I think it can look really chic. I wouldn't probably mix a sateen skirt with a linen jacket however.

However style is all about experimenting and having fun, so give it a try and see if you like it!

I would actually stick with the white. A white cami would look cute and fresh.

I think it could look really chic with white too - white tank underneath it (and at the correct time of year) white pants or white jeans could look cool.

i would wear that with something feminine like a floral or printed dress or skirt. i really like white underneath, too.

I think something with a pattern could be really nice, or maybe something with a ruffle or tie to peek out of the jacket?  I don't think you can go wrong picking up the color in the piping on the jacket, either, or you could do a gray top underneath if it needed to be a little more subdued.

Welcome, by the way smile.gif.

I did not think of a print.  Thanks.
