as far as i know gifts are okay. the kind of law we do people bring in all sorts of things, one of the department heads gets flowers every week from her clients (though she's also slept with quite a few of them).  i'm not sure what the policy is with cash, so i didn't say anything to my co-workers, but i was so excited i had to tell someone.
