I am a big hat person. I have been buying a lot of bucket hats for the boat in the summer, because you would be surprised how burnt your head can get in the summer. i wear beanie and earflap beanies in the winter. I am looking at getting different style hats, but was wondering what kid you girls buy. Do you wear them to cover up a bad hair day or do you wear them because you want to?

Ryan, I looove hats and think i look better with them than without, but no one here wears them.  Well unless it's cold of course. . .  Plus I hate when they scratch my forehead.  But maybe no one else has that problem.


Anyway, the idea that makes me really happy is thinking of a sundress and big straw hat and sandals in the springtime.  I think a lot of other people love that too.  So why is it only socially acceptable to wear them at horse races?


  I've always wanted to use the cowboy.  He's kinda appropriate here??. . .

I love the newsboy caps and berets, but I don't wear them because I am from a small, podunky town in south Alabama where everybody knows everything about everybody, and I am afraid people would think I had lost my mind if I suddenly started wearing them.  I know that is silly, but sometimes I wish I lived in a bigger city.

I love hats, and they actually look pretty good on me.  I don't really wear them that often tho.  Mostly because when I take them off my hair looks awful.  If I'm going to wear a hat, I have to commit to wearing it all day.

i love hats. unfortunately my head is too big for most styles. but if you have a normal sized head go for it. eugenia kim makes really awesome hats, though they're pricey.

Honey - I have the giant head prob too!! It sucks.


I second the E Kim rec - I have a cloche - it's very tight and I have a lot of hair to fit under it, too. I love the cloche style and the sunhat/straw hat styles for summer.

I love hats. And if I do say so myself, I look great in them. A couple of years ago I made a strong effort to add hats to my wardrobe. I now have about ten. And I love each one. If you want to try different hats, a good starting point is a store called Proper Topper. They have a lot of basics that don't look weird. I say if you're going to go for it, go all out and get a fedora. The right one can look amazing.
I really love hats and I always get looks when I wear them. I wish more of people wore them.

I too have a HUGE head. I am always jealous of people who look so cute in them.  I wish I could wear the beautiful, fancy hats like people wear to the Kentucky Derby or weddings but I've yet to find anything that fits my plus-size head.

I also love hats, but can't pull them off, I have a too small head, I just bought a ski hat that was a youth hat...I bought a beautiful hot pink fedora, ala cameron diaz, and I have never worn it...
I have been able to rock the straw hats, but there really isn't anywhere to wear them, but the derby. The only time that I did was a deb party that was a luncheon with a hat theme. Maybe I will have a party like that for me and my friends so we can wear them again.

I hats. For the longest time I believed that I couldn't wear hats because I couldn't find one that looked half decent on me. But two years ago I bought a wool hat (it was a modified cloche) for winter from J. Crew and everyone could not stop telling me that it was cute. So now I'm in love.


I tend to wear cloche and newboy caps because they look the best on me. Since I'm petite, the larger hats with the wide brims tend to look like they're engulfing me, not to mention I look like I'm playing dressup when I wear them.


I actually just got this hat yesterday for $8.



One of my coworkers rocks a hat everyday and it's great because now I can wear my hats all day at work too without looking like an idiot.
