hey ladies, in "life & style" weekly (2/21) i saw a recipe for black cod from Koi restaurant. anyone have this issue? it looked soooooo good, but it was my friend's mag & i didn't want to copy it down or rip her mag so i just figured i'd look online... but i can't find it! TIA!
Sure my mag obession can finally come in handy for someone:
Koi's Miso Bronzed Black Cod
Serves 4 1 cup cooking sake* 1 cup sweetned sake* 3 cups organic shiro miso* 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup of soy sauce 4 six-oz. pieces of black cod filet, skin on * found at Asian Grocery Stores.
1. Place sakes in a saucepan, bring to a broil. Lower heat and add miso, stirring to blend. Cook over lowheat for 20 minutes, stirring often. Add the sugars, stirring until smooth. Pour sauce into a flat container, cover and place in fridge until cool. 2. Stir soy sauce into marinade. Pat fish dry and place in marinade, coating all surfaces. Refridgerate for 48 hours. 3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Remove fish from marinande and place skin side down on foil lined baking sheet. 4. Roast for 7 min. until firm to touch.
Enjoy! That takes some prep, but sounds yummy. Oh great I am hungry now.
oh, chic, u r truly a life saver!!! wow, i never thought this would work, but thank you thank you!! hopefully i can return the favor one day... i'll keep an eye out for ur posts!
yep, i made it. my bf liked it but the problem was that the cod i got had lots of bones so was kinda a pain to eat. plus i marinated it a tad too long so the flavor was really strong. oh & cooking it for 7 min was WAY too short! other than that tho, it was pretty good.
