Accessorizing Dress for Wedding
Permalink Closed

I recently purchased this dress for a wedding in November:
Suzi Chin Maggy Boutique Stretch Silk Dress (Plus)

It's really cute and I love the color, but think it might look too bridesmaid-y. Can you ladies help me pick out shoes and jewelry (and probably a fun cardigan or shrug so I don't get cold) that will help this outfit look more chic and not like I should be walking down the aisle in the wedding.
FYI, it's taking place at 3:30pm in a small chapel.

It is a gorgeous color. What are the bridesmaids wearing? If it's not green, I think you should be fine. I was at a wedding last weekend, and quite a few of the women had on satin dresses like the one you picked out.

How adventurous are you with your colors? It might be fun to do something with peacock feather shades- that emerald green from the dress, turquoise, purple.

I'm not sure if silver would work with the emerald of the dress. Black would definitely work. Perhaps black strappy sandals with a necklace or earrings of jet?

Maybe with some larger sized gold earrings?

I like the idea of gold or bronze shoes too.

i really like relrel's idea of peacock feather colours - i think that would look great and less like a bridesmaid

Ditto!  Sometimes metallics or blacks can look like a bridesmaid dress because that is what they always wear, instead of a colored shoe.
