Digital Cameras - which one do you have?
Permalink Closed

I am in the market for a new digital camera.. right now I have a Nikon Coolpix 3100 and I am looking for something more advanced, to take more professional looking pictures of my son.

What kind of camera do you have, and can you post some pictures you have taken with it?

Here are some scenery pics I have taken

I have a cannon powershot A95 (5.0 mega pixels)  any pictures I post in the thread style of myself were taken with that and my mardi gras pictures were taken with it (see happy mardi gras post) i haven't figured out how to properly take night pictures so those are kinda dark but the day ones are really good.

i have a minolta dimage E203 - it takes ok pictures, but there are lots of things that are annoying about it, so i wouldn't necessarily recommend it. a friend of mine has the digital elph and really likes it. actually, i just looked online and it appears my camera has been discontinued anyway -

sorry, not much help!

if anyone is in the market for a really hi-tech fabulous digi cam, one of the best on the market is the canon digital rebel - my fiance is a camera buff and goes to all of the photography shows and that is the one that is the most highly recommended.

my first thoughts exactly...

cc - do you just have a love of photography or are/were you a student of photo/art? just curious... they are very nice shots!

We have the Canon Optura 40.  I love it b/c you can take digital video along with digital photos.  Plus it has a super zoom and good digital quality...and it is pretty small.  My boyfriend likes shooting shorts, so we wanted something that we could both use.  It was very important to me that we find a camera that allows enlargements without pixelation.  I have enlarged some pics to 5x7s w/out any problem.

Here are some b&w's from a recent trip:

I love Canons...esp. the Elph. I have the Powershot S30 which isn't as nice, but it's cheaper. I am actually very impressed w/the quality. I think it captures color pretty well.  Here's some vacation pics:

Of course, I never resist an opportunity to pimp my dogs...

Oh thanks guys! No, I'm not an artist or photographer at all but I did study art history so I guess my eyes are well trained in terms of composition and such.

Anyway, I am really happy with the Canon Elph. I researched digital cameras for ages and finally just picked this one. I took those two photos in a huge snowstorm (you could barely see more than 4 blocks away and my camera was freezing cold and wet with snow) so I think these are a testament to the power of the Elph!

Hey - I have a Kodak Easy Share 7530 which has a 5.0 M.P. and 3x optical zoom.  It also has color science chip so it captures color very well.  It is very easy to use and I feel takes high quality pictures.  There is also a cheaper version ($100)of the same model w/ lower M.P. I've used it also and it takes very good pictures too.  The 7530 also takes videos - depending on the storage size of your MB  - you can take longer videos w/ a large storage space.

I personally really love it.  Easy to use and takes great looking photos!!
