OK, just got invited to this great event in Boston, it's the grand opening for the Red Bull Art of the Can gallery. (Check it out at redbullartofthecan.com)


I got invited to the thursday private grand opening and saturday public grand opening. Saturday will be more casual (jeans allowed) so I think i got that covered, but Thursday is "red carpet" I was told...what do I wear? It's kinda tricky cuz the exibition will definately be a fun eclectic crowd, so something fun and funky could work, but I am going to be meeting my new "friend's" co-workers for the first time (he is putting on the event)...so i don't want to go too overboard. I'm thinking a cocktail type dress would be appropriate...but nothing too dressy...and nothing too sexy...what would you gals suggest? I've been searching forever w/ no luck :( And of course...on the cheap! :)

sarah, I LOOOOVVVEEE the gold one too, but not my size :( And I think it may be a little too dressy, but it looks so amazing on the model!


I just found this one that is a little similar...it is a champagne/platinum jacquard print. Or is this more suitable for a wedding or something...

I really like the jacquard dress too and I think it's very appropriate.  I do think that it would also be suitable for a wedding or other event so you'll probably be able to wear it a few times.  The color is good because you could wear fun shoes and accessories for this event (like red or fuschia) and then wear neutrals later if you need to be more formal/refined.
