I do, BECAUSE HE'S A LAZY SLOB!!!  The only thing he does is empty/load the dishwasher and take out the trash.  His mommy still does his laundry. Can you tell I'm pissed off right now?

he is a lazy slob but he doesnt help because he's never home - the guy has 18 hr days and works every other weekend... i mean if he didnt throw everything all over the place, i would have less work to do.

I would say 80-20 with me doing most of it...

My husband is in between jobs right now (he doesn't start his new one until the end of the month) and he still does nothing. I have a lot of housework to catch up on tomorrow and I'm so mad because it's all stuff I asked him to take care of earlier this week.

*irate*

But I suppose I really can't complain too much because he takes care of all the kitchen stuff regularly.

We don't live together, but we do the housework at each of our apartments together. Yes, I know that's weird. We share the duties pretty much down the line and there's nothing that is specifically the job of one person. I'm not a massive clean freak, but he's obsessed with cleaning so that's probably why he's so into housework, though.

We are each responsible for cleaning our own laundry, however.

I'm a stay at home mom, so I do most of the housework.  BUT, my husband is very good about picking up after himself.  My daughters, on the other hand, throw crap everywhere.  It's a constant battle to get my oldest to pick her stuff up.  The little one just goes around the house dumping things over and then moving on to the next thing.  Last week she dumped out a box of Kashi Go Lean (which, if you don't know, has VERY small pieces of cereal) and a canister of bread crumbs.  I could go on and on, but I'll spare you all.  We have 2 kids, 2 dogs, a cat and two adults, so it's usually a lot of work.

We have a deal: he does all the outside work and I do all the inside.  We have a big yard, so it's even. He does have his own bathroom, though -- he's responsible for cleaning that. Oh, and we do our own laundry.

He seems to think my life's ambition is to pick up after him, lazy slob.

For example, I was laid up b/c I pulled my back out at work so I had to lie in bed for 4 days. So the day after I was allowed to go back to work, he was doing push ups on the bedroom floor and says to mean "y'know...the carpet could really stand a vaccuuming." Hello? Are your arms broken???? I have been in bed on muscle relaxants for the past 5 days, I can't exactly haul a vaccuum around. It wasn't like I was lying there for fun.

Dumbass.

OMG!!!! Mine does the same thing. My back is injured right now and I can barely brush my teeth without pain. Dishes are piling up in the sink and the glass from the glasstop coffee table that I fell thru is still scattered all over the floor. He's actually waiting for me to get better (which could be weeks) so that I can clean up the shards of glass and vaccuum.

Double dumbass.

My husband does a lot more housework than me.  I don't consider myself a slob, but I definitely don't make cleaning a top priority.  Also, he gets home from work at 5 and I usually don't get home until 7, so he has more time.

For the first year or two we were married, he worked part time.  I loved it!  I didn't clean a damn thing or cook once the whole time.  He took care of everything while I was at work.

I do, and it's probably 80/20, but I put "other" because that's not because he's a lazy slob.  When we both worked outside the home, it was pretty 50/50.  But now that I work from home, it's just easier for me to do most of the inside work.  He still mops the floors (I hate doing floors, esp. in the bathrooms) and scrubs the shower (I hate that too) but I dust, do laundry, vacuum, and most of the dishes - though he is good about emptying the dishwasher pretty regularly.

Outside - he does a lot of the heavy stuff, but I help out with things like installing new gutter covers, raking lawn, weeding, etc.

I voted 'Other'.  He does the dishes and vaccuums, sometimes.  I get stuck doing the laundry, sweeping, mopping, straightening up, and doing all of the 'deep cleaning'.  Our roommate is supposed to do dishes as well, so when he doesn't we end up 'waiting him out' sometimes for almost a week at a time!  If my SO gets really bad about leaving his clothes around and not putting them in the laundry basket, I just won't wash whatever's on the floor/chair/bed.  When he asks why he doesn't have any clothes, he gets an earfull!

i end up doing most of it, b/c it not being done bugs the crap out of me before he would even notice that it needs to be done.

i have this little experiment where i don't clean the shower in our bathroom and it gets really gross and i try to wait for him to notice and clean it.  it never works.  once it got so bad that i started showering in the other bathroom.  instead of taking the hint and cleaning, he decided i had a good idea and began using the other bathroom too.

but he does do all kinds of stuff i have no interest in, like working on the house/fixing stuff, plus he fixes and maintains my car, so i think we're kind of even.

I'm sorry - I'm sure that's frustrating, but this cracked me up!  How clueless some people can be...
