wash anxiety

I was in a really smokey bar last night (I can't wait until 2008 when my city goes smoke free) now my new Salt Works jeans smell horrid. But I totally have wash anxiety about new things, epecially pants. I just can't put it off any longer though. Also my new sweater needs a wash and they're never as soft afterwards. Laundry bums me out, man.

Salt Works girls...I was thinking wash in cold and hang to dry. What do you guys do?

i wash all my jeans on cold and hang them up to dry.  if you are concerned about the color fading, you can also wash them inside out.  use woolite or that "gentle care" stuff from victoria's secret if you want to be extra-careful.  it'll be ok--denim is tough.

I washed mine in cold with Gain or something like that--just normal detergent.  Then I hung them to dry and they are as good as new--no shrinkage or anything.  Oh--I think I probably turned them inside out--I usually do that with jeans too!

Just use lots and lots of liquid fabric softener.  That way when you hang dry them they won't be super stiff and crunchy.  I hate it when my jeans are able to stand up alone....
