Alas, after my rather bleh and unsuccessful encounter with Paige denim...I still need a new pair of jeans. Much as I want the R&R Scorpions, the overblown price point has gotten to me. I have two cheap places to hopefully get jeans without getting killed.


1. Underground Denim sale @ UCLA. I could go after work tomorrow (I live close by). No idea what the discounts are...

2. Barney's Warehouse sale (either on Thursday morning waiting outside at 8 AM and racing to the jeans or on Friday afternoon after work). I've never been, but I just sense that people will be stealing clothes out of each other's arms. Somehow it doesn't sound appealing to be mauled before work, but the stuff is 50-80% off, right?


3. Stay away. Remain alive at end of week.


Has anyone been to either sale? Thoughts?

i've been to denim underground--its great.  it's not super-cheap (all of the jeans are about $75 each) but they have tons and tons of just jeans (some cords, and skirts also).  it's really the best variety i've seen anywhere, and if you are specifically wanting jeans, that's your best bet.

If it was me I would go to both, but I am really bad. I would check out undergrounddenim, probably a better selection?

There's the Shopbop 20% off code - it's 'scoop' (I think, somebody correct me if I'm wrong) - they've got a few good brands there...

Thanks! I got the email as well...poooh I was looking forward to it. But then I had to do homework instead.


I will still probably go whenever the sale is re-scheduled just to check it out.

i've been to the barneys warehouse sale a couple of times and have never been impressed...the most i've gotten is 2 pairs of shoes that i never wear and wish i hadn't bought.  it's basically all the leftover stuff from the barneys sale, and not much cheaper.  i actually think the regular sales at barneys are better, particularly towards the end of the season.  my best purchase is a pair of sevens w/starburst pockets for only $29!


if you get a chance check out blonde in Santa Monica (on Main St.) sometime -- they have a great denim selection and amazing sales, even on the denim.  last time i got a pair of AG legends for $50.  other than that, i'd say planet lulu sales are the best bet for denim.
