What's your fav flat iron
Permalink Closed

I need a new flat iron. What's your fav brand? I was thinking of getting a chi. Does anyone have one? Thoughts?

I have this one from beauty.com. It runs for $80. It's the first one I ever bought and it has lasted me a good 5-6 years.

It's a good one, however I have dropped it a few times, and one of the plates always pops out, so I have to hold it a certain way so it doesn't. Anyway, I need to get a new one, and I thought I might want to try a different brand.

I'm open to all suggestions.

I would love a Chi myself. The best flat ironing job I ever got was when the hair stylist used a Chi!

I have the FHI Heat Tourmaline flat iron. My stylist raves about that brand and he said that he thinks Chi is actually a crappy flat iron despite its popularity. HTH!

I love my CHI, so I have to disagree w/Farrah about it being crappy wink.  I've had mine for 2 years and it still works great - like when I first got it.  I paid $80 for it during a drugstore.com promotion.  I can honestly say it hasn't damaged my hair at all, and it does a great job straightening.  HTH!

CHI for Me! I love mine! I've had it for close to two years and LOVE the way it straightens my hair in the morning. I have thick hair with a wave to it. I can do my hair with my CHI in less then 5 minutes in the morning!

You would not be disagreeing with me dear.  You would be disagreeing with Ed, my totally wackadoodle, straight, male stylistwink.gif.

I used to have a CHI, and right now I have that Hair Art iron you posted. I think they are comparable and since the HA is cheaper, I would go with that one. The CHI didn't seem any better to me.

I have a CHI.  It works fine, and my stylist recommended it.

I have a Solia and love it. My Mom has a GHD and my hairdresser has a CHI and I don't see any difference between all three of them.

I just purchased the most kick-ass GHD ever. I love it!! It's the Limited Edition IV model, I think.

It slides through my hair like butter and I can also use it to curl my hair. My sister has a CHI and I am not thrilled with it at all.

I have a FHI with the ceramic plates (and it's pink) but I'm not sure of the exact name. I love it! It totally makes my hair so shiny!

I liked the CHI until the on and off button got messed up. Also, my cousin's CHI got messed up. Right now, I'm using a drugstore straightner and it works just as good as any straightner.

I'm glad you brought up this topic. I have super thick, curly hair, and it takes me f o r e v e r to straighten it with my flat iron. I really need a good one!
