Blocking emails on GMAIL
Permalink Closed

Can someone tell me how to block emails from a specific user? Is that possible? I tried googling and researching the site, but I couldn't find anything. I know I can create a filter so that they go into the trash, but i'd like to see if there's a way to make them bounce back to the sender. I'm getting these creepy harassing emails from my own uncle, who I barely know. cry

TIA

um, creepy!

here's what I would do:

settings>filters>create a new filter

in the "from" field enter creepy uncle's address and hit "next step"

select "apply the label" and from the drop down select "new label" and call it "BLOCKED"

select "forward to" and enter creepy uncles address in the email address field.

That's the best solution I could come up with. Doesn't technically block him, but let's him think he's blocked. I would create a test filter with one of your email accounts before it's put in place too, just so you see how it appears.

hth!

Excellent D, thank you!

For what it's worth this guy (my mom's bro) lives in SD (i'm in MA) and I haven't seen him in 15 years. He used to be my favorite uncle, but now I guess he has anger issues and tries to provoke my whole family with passive-aggressive mind-games. Ugh!
