No pictures, but I like the idea of a coat rack, table, and mirror. I love tables in entryways.

Can you paint the walls? Wallpaper? Paint the lower half, put up a chair rail, wallpaper the top half? Beadboard on the lower half, paint on the top half?

How's the lighting? Can you install some cool fixtures? Sconces?

Mirrors in all different sizes with the frames all painted black (or gold, or whatever)?

Is it big enough for actual furniture? It sounds narrow.

How do you feel about adding an umbrella stand? I think a nice table with a mirror above it would be a nice addition, with a coat rack and umbrella stand in the corner.

Is there room for an interesting bench? Maybe a slim upholstered one without a back? It might be nice and would help take up some of that 15 feet.

That is quite narrow. When thinking of wall-hangings (pics, mirrors, etc.), it might be good to go with ones with a profile that comes out from the wall more than just a plain frame.

Console tables are nice (Crate & Barrel have some pretty ones). Any furniture you choose will have to be very "light on its feet," perhaps rounded on the front-end, and shallow.

To add some interest to the long, narrow rectangle, include something that has a natural/organic shape (like a voluptuous vase) or is made of a natural material (like a basket)

I would use some molding to create a large rectangle that your current posters are hung inside of. Sort of a frame within a frame idea. Then paint that rectangle an accent color. If you are going for a fun look you could even use a base coat of magnetic paint so that you can use magnets to add other little items & 3-D objet d'art for interest. Or chalkboard paint, and then create a backdrop that ties in your current art. I have a friend who did this and made a scene including the iconic "welcome to las vegas" sign that said welcome to the ________ family and included framed art from their honeymoon in vegas. For a more formal look you could use a chic bold color you might not be willing to paint the other areas of your house. Or even a metalic!

Another idea would be to create over exaggerated frames for the current art work. Super size mats, or mats covered in a bold fabric that showcases your design asthetic. Last but not least, lighting. A simple low voltage tracklight is alway good if what's there already isn't some bright source of light or natural light.
