As some of you know, I work for a start-up agency. We lost one of our largest accounts last week and, as my boss put it, are "hemorrhaging money." Being the two highest paid employees, a co-worker and I were informed yesterday that today will be our last day. It's not really the best move, IMO because my co-worker and I were the two people that brought in the most new business - but it's not my business to run, and it's their decision to make. Basically, they are keeping the lowest paid people (entry-level) and my boss will manage everything.
ANYWAY - I can do what I did for them on my own. I am starting my own internet marketing agency and need to come up with a name. I wanted to use Emergence, but that seems to be taken by every Tom, Dick, and Harry already. I'd like to hear some ideas for other names -- please share them here!
I am also going to go great guns on stylethread and have already scheduled a meeting with my business partner next week to get rolling on that. He also has a web development company that is growing faster than he can keep up with, so I will probably be helping him out with that as well.
Also, my new-found freedom will allow me to tack Peru onto my trip to Equador/Galapagos with my husband in November - so yay to that too - Machu Picchu, here I come!
Extensions of sympathy are not welcome, but congratulations are!

I've come up for a name for my agency: e-volve. And the tagline will be "leveraging the web." My URL will be e-volvemarketing.com (I've registered the domain, but I don't have a site up yet -- I still have to design a logo.) I already have two accounts and have secured several independent contractors -- 2 graphic designers, a web master, a proofreader, a film producer in case anyone needs videos, and a print production manager just in case anyone need supporting collatoral. I also have a big presentation already scheduled for one of my accounts I'm taking over the loft in my house and making that my office which is currently shared and under-utilized with my husband, but kind of removed from the rest of the house with a stairway off the foyer, so if people come over for meetings it won't be like they're walking through my living areas. The loft already has a desk, library area, chair and sofa, a full bath, and balcony - so it should make a great, at-home, REAL office!
yay!
