I highly recommend Sevens. They make a curvey woman look wonderful! They shape the butt oh so perfectly! Paper Denim & Cloth are also awesome. I'm a size 8 too and get tons of compliments when I wear either of those pairs.

The only jeans that I have ever found that fit are Jordache, available at Wal-mart for $14.88-$17.88! I get the short length (I'm 5'2") but they have regular and long lengths also, all which run on the long side - for the sake of comparing, a short inseam in Jordache is about equivalent of a regular inseam at the Gap and Old Navy. They come in quite a few washes/styles, and for that price how can you go wrong? The rise is good - not granny style but not a crack-show either. I'm holding you to that no-laughing thing . . . .

No lie! The problem I usually have is that jeans that fit in the butt/thighs stick straight up at my waist. Ones that fit in the waist I can't pull up over my thighs/hips. Another problem I have is that most jeans tend to be too narrow in the lower thigh/knee area.

ALL of the Jordache styles fit me - I have a stretch flare pair, a non-stretch straight pair, and a non-stretch wide leg pair and they all fit me very well. They also tend to have a gentler shape through the leg that is so nice for those of us with thighs, so flares don't end up looking like bell bottoms and wide legs don't end up looking like tree trunks. Let me know if you try them!

The only jeans I have ever found that fit me right are also from Wal-Mart. They are the Levi Strauss low rise boot cuts. The regular length is long enough on me to go to the bottom of my 3 inch heels. They cost around $20. They make my booty look good and they flare out perfectly at the bottom.

hmm...I think I might have to try them! I have the same problem with jeans fitting through the hips, but not at the waist. I'm all about cheap finds!

I like how both AG Legends and AG Angels fit. I am a size 8 and curvy. I often have the problem where if it fits my butt, the waist will be huge, but with AG jeans, they fit everywhere. The Angels are a bit of a lower-rise than the Legends. I highly recommend these jeans. You can buy them at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, or Anthropologie (not Anthropologie online though).

If you are wanting a pair of higher end jeans I would go to a boutique or a department store (Saks, Nodies, Bloomies, Neimans) and try a whole bunch on. What works for one person doesnt always work for another. When you get there a sales person should help you (this is assuming they are doing their job

) Tell them first off you only want jeans that have a long inseam (probably 33 or longer granted i have long legs too and i only wear 34 or longer so it depends how long your legs are). This gives a starting ground and eliminates a lot of jeans. Then just start trying on. I am curve (small waist with much bigger hips) and I love sevens and cohs. You could start with these and then just work from there. I would try on one pair of each brand just to get a feel for how that brand fits. There are different styles in each brand but you can get a general feel for the brand and whether or not you like the way the jeans feel, colors, etc. HTH and good luck.

i agree with heatherlynn. the best way to do is to go to a store and try on a pair. coh works welll for people who are curvy, pretty much any style will do, and then have a long inseam. lots of people like the seven dojos too. i personally stay awy from pdc b/c they make my ass look flat.

eta: i forgot about james jeans. i really, really like mine, but the rise might be a bit lower than what you're looking for. i know a couple of other girls have them (i think cc and vanessa) so maybe they'll offer some input.

i am a size six and a curvy little thing too, and i like sevens and COH. but don't get discouraged when you are trying jeans on. sometimes my dressing rooms are overflowing with different styles and sizes. with all designer jeans, each cut is different so you may vary from size 27-29!

a lot of "curvy" girls have recommended PDC as well, but i have yet to try them. if you do- report back please!

I've got a similar body and here's what I've liked that aren't so low rise.

* Rock and Republic (Roths and Skynards, try both of those on and if you want a more fashion-y pair, the Scorpions rule...plus the inseam is 35" so it can't be too short for you)

* Sevens (You may want to try the 36" inseam ones, but I just parted with my NYD Seven bootcuts painfully after wearing them to death for the past 2 1/2 years...so perfect, the stretch flares are great too.)

* COH (I only like the Ingrids...personally don't like the Fayes at all but lots of curvier girls are into them)

* Salt Works (IMO Orchard Street is the most accomodating, plus the inseam is at least 34")

* Abercrombie *ducks* (yes, they are great if you have a high waist-hip ratio and the rise isn't very low, at least not on me...)

I personally think PDC flattens my ass down to a pancake, but I know some curvy girls who look great in it.

EDIT: I cannot BELIEVE I forgot AG! I'm giving a HUGE second to Andrea Julia's AG rec...they are some of the best basic jeans for curvy girls out there! They have thigh space, make your butt look amazing, and the inseam is probably 34...I got a lot cut off mine when I took them to the tailor.

Ok, here's my salt works plug!

I consider myself curvy too and I have sevens and COH and love them both, but now I am really in love! I don't know if it's the winter weight or what, but lately i've noticed how big my butt looks from the side! But I recently got the Avenue A Salt works jeans and every time I put them on, I can't stop looking at my butt in the mirror!
