Which shirt? (If any...)
Permalink Closed

Okay, I normally like to be able to go to a store to try on stuff, so I can see the quality, the feel, the size, etc., but I've decided to suck it up and order online.  I need a shirt for my gay club excursion next weekend and the local stores are seriously lacking, so I've found a few possiblities at Delias.  I'd like to see what you guys think of these options.  Oh, I'll be wearing jeans definitely, but haven't figured out what shoes or bag yet.

Also, for the gray shirts below, what colors of shoes/bags do you suggest?  TIA!!

Only comes in gray

In gray

In gray

or teal

or moss

Any opinions on these?  Or ideas for any other under $50 shirts?

I like the 1st one.  I could see it with some silver strappy sandals.

Out of the shirts you posted, I like the first one best but the color is kinda drab.  If you went with that one I would definitely go with shoes & jewelry in bright colors to add some punch.  Here are some options I found, all well below your $50 limit:

I like the last shirt posted in teal but for this particular event I really love the shirts LMonet posted from WetSeal, I really think those would go over well.

I'm leaning towards the teal one also.  I think if I paired it with silver sandals and my silver bag it would probably be alright.  While it is a club, it is in Iowa, so I can definitely get away with a little more casual of a top.  Plus, I would be able to wear it very casually too, which is somewhat important to me because I don't actually go out much.  It's only $21.50 too!  Unless I buy 2 and then they're $19 a piece.

I just need to find some really metallic silver sandals now, no more than around $60...

Well, if I can't find any silver sandals I really like (I'm gonna check out Payless after work), I already own the ones below from Newport News.  I'm only looking for new ones because part of the footbed is already wearing away, even though I've only worn them twice.  They also aren't as metallic as I'd like.  But, they are my backups if I can't find anything else.

So as a final outfit, what do you think of this?:

not exactly this, but similar

and perhaps a sparkly, cuff-like bracelet...

Carrie- I love your outfit choice. I was out at University of Iowa during a conference a few years ago and really enjoyed their clubs (I was suprised, I didn't know what to expect). I think it's a great outfit for that scene. Have fun!

Thanks Bliss!  Out of curiosity, what type of conference brought you to Iowa?  Feel free not to answer; I'm always interested when people say they're from or have been to Iowa, mostly because very few people (that I'm aware of anyways) are from here.  I usually feel like a minority...Especially when it comes to fashion!

Funny you ask. I attended a Nasdaq conference there, huge bore. I'm from the Northeast and was shocked when I went there and literally saw tractors driving down the road like regular cars. I was also amazed at how small and empty the airport was (we were practically on a jet). I live in Delaware, hardly a booming metropolis, but I was still jarred. I also didn't know about the whole "corn" thing and kept wondering why everyone kept asking me to bring them some back. Weird.  I also visited Chicago while I was there and suprised my relatives (it was pretty close). I was actually still in college when I went so I had a ball, I was honestly suprised that those kids could party. It really was one of my best college experiences, I still have my Iowa keychain, lol. All in all I didn't think it was a bad place. Do you go to college there?

I did go to Iowa State University, but I graduated 3 years ago, in what else, fashion

I don't really like it here, but that's because most of what I'm interested in isn't here..and there's not a lot to do.

It's a good place for families though.

Side note:  The shirt from Delia's, in the teal, only had XS and XL left.  I ordered the XL (had originally planned on getting a Large), so I hope it's not huge.  Since it's in junior sizes, I'm assuming it at most, will only be a tiny bit big, but still wearable.  And they aren't shipping until Feb. 3rd again...Don't know why, but I'm glad I'm paying for 3-5 day shipping, so it will hopefully be here no later than next Thursday.  I'm also praying that I do like it, because as I stated before, the stores here are horrible...and now I'm somewhat determined to wear a fun, tunic-like shirt..
