The MAC loose powder I've had forever is just about run out. I don't love MAC and would like to try something new now that I have a Sephora close.

Can anyone recommend a great loose powder? I like to dust it on after to set my makeup. I wear NARS foundation, has anyone tried NARS powder?

How about a mineral powder?  I love it and it's good for your skin.

I love Chanel powder. Sephora doesn't have it, but I do recommend it.

One of the Sephora girls tried Bare Minerals on me and I hated it. I felt like it looked worse than without makeup- it didn't give me good coverage and looked patchy and wrinkly under my eyes.

Would it be different wearing it over makeup?

Maybe she put too much on.  Just because somebody works at a makeup store doesn't mean they know what they are doing or good at it.  I wear it over my regular makeup to give me more of a flawless look.   Right now I use Physicians Formula:

Physicians Formula - Mineral Loose Powder, Creamy Natural 2451  I use a regular face brush instead of the little one it comes with.

I agree w/Cortney that she probably applied too much.  I wear a very light layer over my foundation/concealer, and it does give a much nicer look than regular powder IMO.

I use Larenim, but I don't know if they ship to Canada.

She probably did apply too much Bare Minerals. If you use it correctly (and a lot of people don't...even the Sephora girls) it looks really good and natural. A primer also works wonders under the minerals because it creates a barrier between your skin and the powder so that nothing sinks into your fine lines. I also use the NARS powder and like all NARS products, it's very good. It's really light and fine so it can get kinda messy but it makes my redness and any shine go away. I also like the NARS pressed powder. I feel like I get better coverage from it and it isn't as messy plus it has SPF.

Recently I stumbled upon a Cover Girl powder that looks pretty good, especially considering the brand. I got it for free, otherwise I never would have given it the time of day. I wear it over my tinted moisturizer and it gets rid of the shine and adds a nice, finished look. It looks very natural but covers, if that makes sense. I'm sooo not into heavy foundations or "powdered" looks, so I really appreciate a powder that matches, covers, but yet feels super light on and looks really natural.

It's Cover Girl Tru Blend powder foundation (I think). It's the one with the brush in the container, not the powder puff. Ditch the brush though. I don't know what they were thinking.

Oh and my other issue with powder is that it sometimes accentuates my dry skin. This doesn't do that.

I use Physician's Formula mineral wear too. Definitely need to be careful about putting too much on though.
