Tiffany jewelry...how to make it shiny again?
Permalink Closed

I have several pieces of Tiffany jewelry (Return to Tiffanys round charm bracelet and heart charm necklace, venetian bracelet, graduated bead necklace and bead bracelet).  It is all sterling-what is the best product to use to get it shiny and new looking again?  All of the pieces seem to be dull....

I like this kind of silver polish:

That watery kind where you let the silver soak has never worked well for me.
FYI this isn't really a foam but a brown claylike substance that you rub on the silver.

This trick I saw in a magazine works great for silver jewelry.

1. Line a shallow dish with foil.
2. Lay out your jewelry in the dish.
3. Sprinkle jewelry with a good coating of baking soda.
4. Pour enough hot water to cover jewelry.
5. Let sit for 10 minutes, then rinse and pat dry.

TADA!

Walmart and Target carry jewely polish that works great.  Red jar for gold jewelry and a grey jar for silver.  Dip it in the jar for 20 seconds, then rinse off with warm water and dry with a soft cloth.

also if you take it back to tiffany's, they'll polish it for you for free. one time I went and they couldn't polish it for whatever reason so they gave me a free polishing cloth and bottle of tiffany's silver polish

I have several silver Tiffany pieces - I use Tiffany's silver polish and a clean cloth and it works great.

I've used the cloth for Silpada jewelry, and it seems to work nicely. Not as shiny as new, though, but shiny nonetheless

Making baking soda into a paste with warm water is really good. Let it sit for a few minutes, then buff it with a soft cloth. I use old t-shirts. Works perfectly every time.

I have done this and it is great fun, like a science project in your kitchen.  I showed my husband and he wanted to clean all of my silver lol.

Hermione, the last time I took my stuff to Tiffany they told me it was a $10 charge per piece and it looked awful when I went to pick it up.  Before my items would come back super shiny and chrome likecry
