Ron Herman...the evil and pretentious...
Permalink Closed

Well, this morning I went to Ron Herman to try the new Paige jeans that just came out. I swear, those f*****g sad excuses for SAs didn't even give me a room until I had like 8 pieces of clothing on my arms and they were damn heavy! And they just stand there looking all pretnetious thinking they've mastered the art of destroyed coolness.

Ai yi yi...between them and Fred Segal I think I'd like to take an Uzi to all the SAs. And of course Paige jeans are only available at those two places and Lisa Kline right now.

(and I jut felt like venting because I know y'all with understand, although I think this is pretty common knowledge...though their 75% off sale is getting kinda tempting)

Nothing worse than snotty, pretentious saleswomen who think they're the last word in hip. We need to think of a quick verbal smackdown...

The SAs at Ron Herman are soooo weird - they're either overly killing-you-with-kindness nice or I'm-way-too-cool-to-be-working-here evil.  I was at the RH in Brentwood a few weeks ago and had the NICEST SA - I can't remember her name but I will seriously only go back to that store and specifically ask for her.

So what did you think of Paige jeans?  I tried them on at Fred Segal a few days after I saw the blurb on them in Daily Candy and really like them.  I think I was expecting disaster and they actually fit really well.  I liked how thin and comfy they felt on.  But I recently bought a pair of Yanuks and a pair of Capital Tailor jeans, so I can't buy anymore right now.  But they'll probably be my next pair...

lilykind, i had a funny experience at the one in south coast plaza.  i walked in on a busy weekend afternoon with my mother and was kind of looking around at the front of the store.  i couldn't have been more than 3 steps in the door when this salesgirl accosted me and started gushing over how totally awesome my bag was and omg, the new chloe, i haven't seen it yet in person omg it's fabulous.  so before i can even get a word out (and also because i was a bit stunned-stupid) she has called over the other girl and fashion-damaged hipster-boy who are lounging behind the desk to see my "brand new chloe bag."  imagine the horreur when i finally piped up "oh actually, it's a knockoff that i just got for $50 on balboa island" with a perky smile.  they had no idea what to say.  a small victory that makes up for all the times i have been treated snottily by pretentious sales people!

omg bumblebee that is so funny.  I do that all the time with my fake kate spade.  everyone that sees it gushes over it because its green leather (low quality but who knows the difference) and so unusual because they only see people carrying the black leather ones. Most the time I just play along and say I got it on vacation in NY but sometimes I'll say oh its a fake.  Its always fun to play with people like that.

So where did you get yours?  On the street or online?

i got it at this little boutique that sells "high-end" knockoffs (i know that's an oxymoron)--they are all nice leather, etc. and she usually carries pretty current styles.  the one i was telling the story about is a pretty large pink leather hobo-ish thing with silver chains on the strap.

darn.  I was hoping it was online.  Oh well.  I'm still laughing over your bag experience and the ones I have.

bumblebee, that is so funny! I should borrow your bag or something.

(my experience with fake bags includes the handles from a fake Kate Spade falling off from the rest of the bag when I was in the cashiers line at Trader Joes.)

LA Gal, I posted a detailed review of the Paige jeans in the fashion section! HTH

i hate, hate, hate that. i'm really quick to say stuff too because these are supposed to be upscale sort of little places. if it happens to where i'm mad enough, i'll maybe call the manager the next day, not be mean or anything but just say you know i was in the store, and this is how it was.

I just think that if you are in a place where there are $600 skirts and $1000 cashmere being sold you deserve some respect!
