Umm the slingbacks probably cost more because of the style, not the material I'm guessing. Overall I don't know which one is more expensive, alligator or croc, but I see more croc pumps on the lower end shoes.

hmm not sure the difference on the skins.  I know that crocs have a different nose than gators and you can fry up gator tails and eat them unlike croc tails.  I know you weren't looking for that but that's all I know about them.

i've only had it battered and fried, and it tastes like any other fried chunk of whatever.

Oh its great fried.  Gator on a stick is sold at most festivals and then just fried gator is sold in seafood restaurants around here.  I've had blackened gator too and it wasn't bad.  It just didn't agree with my stomach. Anyways its like fried chicken.  There isn't any other way to explain the taste.

I've had it... tastes like fried clams.

As for the shoes, no idea. But they're cute.
