What do you think?  Some examples...

(Model on the far right, of course.)

I think it's a nice look. The only thing that would worry me about it is the shorts being too short and/or the heel height being too tall.

It seems like something models and some celebrities will do but will be hard for the average person to pull off.  I for one cant really imagine wearing shorts and heels.  I think I would feel ackward and no matter how conservative the outfit and little hookerish.

I think it's do-able with a wedge type espadrille shoe, it has a more casual feel, also the length of the shorts can't be too short.

I think it is a look made for models.

I get the hooker vibe too.

I like the second look, because the shoes look more casual and therefore fit with the rest of the outfit.  The first look, I'm not sure about -- it just doesn't seem to fit.

Not feeling it.  I saw a girl in the store yesterday in wedge slides & daisy duke denims.  Let's just say it wasn't pretty.

I agree with Ally S that a wedge may be preferable. I am really dying for a wedge shoes this summer! :)

It reminds me of Carrie on Sex in the City

It's really fashion forward looking, but I definitely can't see it on the average person. To pull off shorts, you need super skinny legs!

I think it looks bad with stilettos, but great with a wedge, chunky heel, or kitten heel.

this is a look for people with skinny long legs...models and a few celebs.

I personally would only do it if the shorts were like bermuda shorts, and with a really casual shoe, which I guess defeats the purpose of the miles of leg showing.

I love this look, I think it is fresh, but it can be done really wrong. I think it would look great with some rolled shorts that are tiny longer, rather than short shorts, no denim. Then pair it with a blazer or a cardigan, and then some cute strappy heels that are plain, and maybe more daytime rather than nightime.
This is by Menichetti and this look I love. This keeps it non-hookerish in my opinion.

BCBG, but not in this shiny material.

Ghost, this is the style of shorts I want. I am going to buy some pleated men's pants and cut them, then roll them up.

i'm not a huge fan of shorts anyway, so i think this look is incredibly hard to pull off and very easy to fail at.  i guess the right person in the right place could look cute in it.

although there is nothing worse than when people try to dress up a shorts outfit by wearing a pair of kitten heel mules.  that look drives me crazy - it's just wrong to me.

I like shorts with kitten heel mules, that's not too severe and if you can carry off shorts you should be able to pull that look off. I think wedge heels look fine with shorts if you have long lean legs. I think when you pair stilettos with shorts you run the risk of looking tarty.

This image just keeps popping into my head. My boyfriend would watch the show with me and he had never commented on anyone's clothes before and when he saw that outfit he said "Is that suppose to be a joke? Is she dressed like that for a reason? Did I miss something?" After looking at some of the pictures posted I can see it looking cute, but I would just be too afraid I would not look good. This is probably one of the only times I DO NOT want to dress like Carrie Bradshaw.

in theory, it can be a nice look. in reality, tough to pull off. I agree a wedge could work like in the delias picture, but only with a tee (no midriff showing!) to offset the potential sexiness.
