Didn't want to contribute only negatives so...

During a recent Quest for a Sweater I called a number of B&M boutiques around the US/Canada trying to find the thing. 4 of them went out of their way to help me find it:

1. Shelagh in Charlotte, NC (actually called up the supplier, special ordered the sweater in the right size and colour and were super nice about the whole thing)

2. TNT in Toronto

3. Ami Ami in Deerfield Illinois

4. Diane T in Brooklyn

I'm posting this because I've often found it very, very grating to be brushed off and treated badly by boutique staff who're more interested in dancing to the bad music they've got playing too loud, or unsubtly patronizing/ignoring their customers so...wow, customer service, it actually works wonders!

Diane T is right down the street from me.  I am glad to hear they were helpful.  I am not a big fan of the owner, but the other people that work there are really helpful.

I LOVE Diane T!!! I went all the time when I was in law school and lived on Montague St. and considered making a trip from the UES to get my outfit for my rehearsal dinner. I really liked Danielle that worked there, but heard she's gone. You know Diane T and the ppl on Montague St are related. what's the store's name? it's on the north side and it's down some steps, next to Cafe Buon Gusto.....

I usually love her merchandise and I like being able to shop at a smaller boutique where she knows the customers.

I am not sure who I spoke to...I assume it was a shopgirl, unless the owner answers the phone...? Whoever it was was very ncie and helpful.

Diane (the owner) is there all the time, so it is possible she answered the phone.  I just find her a bit snotty sometimes, but she can be really nice.  (Glad you got her on a good day)

I think Danielle is still there I saw her in there when I was walking home from the gym the other night I saw her through the window.  I also like Lily who works there.  I have only been the store on Montague once, so I don't remember the name, but I just have to say Brooklyn has tons to offer shopping-wise :)  When my friends seem unconvinced, I take them on a shopping tour of Brooklyn to change their minds (which always includes a stop at Sweet Melissa for chocolate covered grahams yummm!!!)
