Slips

I am in need of a full slip. However, the dress I will be wearing it under will allow the top to peek out a tad. And, the traditional lace top variety just won't cut it.
Does anyone make slips that are printed and modern and not grandma-ish. In my mind I picture a black one with itty-bitty pin sized white polka-dots.

So, modern slips? Printed slips?

Please help!

Slips are so hard to find now for some reason. I have a black dress that is just sheer enough that you need a slip and all I could find at any of the department stores were the type with lace. The only place that I found a plain slip was believe it or not Wal Mart. It is just plain black, but maybe that can be your last resort if you don't find one elsewhere. Hopefully someone has some ideas for places that sell cute ones. I would be interested as well!

This is so hard! Slips *are* so difficult to find. I guess no one wears them anymore, which I don't understand. I mean, I still have dresses with static and dresses that are a bit too see-through. Surely other women do too!

I love Jones New York slips for this kind of thing. I've found them at Value City before for like $12 a piece. I have one that's gold with a big rectangle of lace at the top. It looks really dumb alone, but awesome under a dress with that bit covering my cleavage.

Honestly, I don't know what to tell you. Most of the ones I've bought for this kind of thing have had the lace top, and those were hard to find. Forever 21 has some slips with straight necklines, but I don't remember if they have anything without a lace top. I actually just bought a slip sewing pattern because the hunt is getting so difficult, I figure I'll need to start making my own

I know I wasn't much help...I can just commiserate :) joy0302 may be right that you'll have to settle for plain black.

Urban Outfitters has some cute slips, here's the link:
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/category.jsp?popId=WOMENS&navAction=poppushpushpush&isSortBy=true&navCount=112&pushId=W_APP_PANTIES&prepushId=WOMENS_APPAREL&id=W_APP_PANTIES_SLIPS
They actually have one that is black/white polka dot but it has a bow in the back, not sure if that could work or not.

Also, Anthropologie has some:

HTH!

I went on a major hunt for a slip last year and I remember seeing some at Anthropolgie, but I don't know if they would be there now since it's summer. I say you should try to find what you are looking for online or see if Macy's has any.

If you need something very plain, I wonder if a nightie could possibly work?

This at Target seems a little like what you're looking for minus the polka dots.

Sausoria, what a good suggestion, I haden't thought of looking at nighties.

I keep finding all these cute cami's but don't want to wear a cami under a dress. I will look Target and see what I can find. Thanks!

These two slips popped up on Shopbop today. It's not a polka dot style, but they are nice and simple to wear under other things.

VS has plain black and nude ones riht now for $48 each. Very practical and sleek.

I like Honeydew, Anthropolgie, DKNY, and Forever 21 for slips when I can get my hands on some! hth
