Sweet ruffles & pink aren't usually my thing, but I'm strangely drawn to this dress. I'm thinking about buying it to wear to an upcoming wedding, but I'd want to dress it down with flip flops, etc. for occasions like a date night later down the road to get some use out of it. Is it too girly/cutesy?

I don't think it is too cutsey.  It has a laid-back, Free People kind of vibe that keeps it grounded.  Flip-flop idea is great.

Not too cutesy at all IMO, but that's coming from the queen of ruffles, pink, and all things girly smile.  I definitely think you could dress it down - it'd be cute w/some silver flip flops.

It's very cute, but not cutesy. You should get it.

I like it, I think it has the right amount of cute. You might be able to put a brown leather belt where the purple sash is to bring the cute factor down another level if you were interested.

I agree, I would pair it with a brown leather belt or maybe a brown leather bag. I would also keep the jewelry neutral to tune down the cuteness of the dress. Otherwise, it's not too cutsey.

Thanks, girls! Since you guys don't think it's too saccharine, I'm going to go the Gap after work and try to find it. I keep going back and forth between thinking it's just sweet enough, and thinking like I'll look like a 5 year old who belongs in Little House on the Prairie! I wish it came in green or something...

Actually, to quote Tim Gunn, it's a bit too Holly Hobby for me. JMO.

Ditto, it's the two ruffles at the bottom that are killing it for me, and right at the knee too.  But try it on and let us know how it looks irl.

I didn't even try it on :(

I got in there and seeing it in person just killed it for me. I think it was seeing the polka dots up close. I just walked up to it, said "ugh" and walked away. Oh, well!
