Mikacat - did you end up getting watercanvas? If so how did you like it?

I tried the primer and watercanvas on my hand at Sephora the other night. It looked really good. It made my hand look airbrushed in a weird way. I also liked how moist and water-y the primer felt. I find alot of primers now have something in them that makes your skin feel surreal-ly smooth but it's not really moisturizing.

Does anyone use the primer too?

dot, I used to use water canvas and loved it. I didn't use the primer though, as I was convinced that it was a ploy by VL to get people to shell out more $$, as if paying $45-52 (back when I used it, it cost $45) and then more $ for a sponge that's not even included weren't bad enough. I just seemed to me that if you make a product, especially one as high-quality and expensive as water canvas, that product should stand on its own, and its effectiveness should not be dependent on another product.

what is the primer like? is it like a moisturizer?

I tried it on my hand at Sephora. It's a lot less lotion-y than other primers like Laura Mercier and Smashbox.. that seem to have that paste-like quality that makes your skin really senthetically smooth. It was really hydrating. I was actually more drawn the primer at first because it felt really quenching and wet. Then I tried the Watercanvas and I really liked the finish. I only did it on my hand, but when I put them side by side I noticed that my hand with the WC on still looked like skin but you couldn't see the veins etc. It was very smooth. I am interested to see how it would look on my face.

I am a little resistant because it's sooooooooooooo $$$. Primer + watercanvas + sponge = a little less than $100! I mean like I mentioned before I'm constantly blowing money on cosmetics, but I am trying to be good and want to make sure it's worth the investment.

I will be out of my current foundation soon. I like it but I've used the same brand on and off for years (I always go back to Chantecaille Future Skin)... and Watercanvas is the first product that's really caught my attention in a while. I want to make sure it's worth it ;)

Hi Dot--

I did get the Primer last weekend and I love it. I think it will probably last 6months or so b/c it only takes a pearl size dab. It does everything you mentioned and really helps my pores look smaller and smoother. Now you are going to laugh your butt off b/c I can't find a foundation that I love and I have tried everything and nothing looks at good as my tried and true Cover Girl oil control classic beige (with the blue top). I have tried Stila, Chanel, Clinique, L'oreal, Origins, Lancome, Mary Kay, Beauticontrol, Lorac and Estee Lauder. Right now I also have Origins Stay TUned balancing face makeup and Stila Complete coverage makeup shade C in my makeup bag and try to alternate but the cover girl looks the best. I like the Beauticontrol but it is kinda thick. I used it on my wedding day or when I really need coverage. It is called cream sheer foundation. This has been an ongoing hunt for me for 10 years or so. I love the color of the Cover Girl and the amount of coverage but hate the smell and wouldn't mind if something felt lighter on my skin. SO since I have had such great results with the Vincent Primer/Cover Girl combo, I think I will try the Watercanvas next -- I am just waiting on the next sephora code. If that isn't as good, I think I will just stick with Primer and CG foundation.

On a side note, I have also tried foundation from English Ideas and Philosophy the Present. If anyone wants one of these, please let me know and I will send them to you.
