ive really been wanting bangs lately. do u think this is a good idea? or is not worth it when you decide to grow them out and you have to go through the awful grow out stage?
i took the plunge a year ago (i hadn't had bangs since i was 16 and i had those horrible 90s round, curled under bangs ala kelly on early 90210) and am so glad i did.
if you are wanting to really change your look bangs are a good way to do it. and growing them out is not that bad, since long, sideswept bangs are really cute. i would just avoid trying to do the growing out in the summer -- my stylist tried to get me to do it this summer and i gave up -- the humidity made the long bangs out of control.
I love my bangs. I didn't get heavy bangs and I keep them the length of the bottom of my eye. I keep them around that length so I can style them but if I don't want to then they are long enough to blend in with my longer hair and you can't see them.
I just got them a couple of months ago. I have not had bangs since junior high. They are not very heavy and they touch the bottom of my nose. My stylist is trying to get me to do short blunt bangs, but I am not that brave yet. I hated it at first, but I just wasn't use to it. After a day or so I was comfy with them and not I am very glad I did it.

Last time I went to my hairdresser, I asked to have some long, sideswept bangs added in my hair as well as my usual layers. It worked out very well, my shortest bangs were grazing my eyes and my longest ones blended right into my layers. It was a fun style to have, and I was rid of it in a few months (because my hair grows superfast naturally) so I consider it well worth the experiement.
I say go for it. Maybe start out with some long bangs and then you can always go shorter if you decide you like them. Mine are upper-lip length and sideswept - I'll never go back to no-bangs!

Definetly! I'm getting bangs on Wednesday. Well, I should say I'm getting serious bangs on Wed. I always have some kind of bangs whether it's wispy or sideswept. RIght now I'm loving Kimberly Stewart's bangs, the heavy bangs that reach just above the eyes.
I think bangs look very good on some face shapes (oval, thinner) and not good at all on round or chubby-cheeked faces. A friend with basically a very round face got bangs and she looked like a 5 year old chipmunk with them...
