yep--i agree. in fact i only wear my beaded vintage cardis with jeans and t-shirts or a tank. i feel too fussy wearing it in a dressy manner.

Lilykind-do you work or are you a student? A girl I work with wore one from Anthro alone buttoned up with nice slacks and pumps and it didn't look too dressy.

I'm a student, but I am trying to get out of dressing like one since I'm only going to school half-time now and I'm graduating in May.

I have this free people cardigan

I have worn it with an olive satin cami (it works somehow) for night, top button buttoned with jeans or with dressier chocolate brown bcbg pants (I wore it with the satin cami and brown pants xmas day) - I have also worn it with a teal crewneck long sleeve lightweight sweater with jeans (day) - I think you can wear it with a skirt too - I haven't yet, but totally would - I also get a lot of compliments on it... it's a good sweater for layering over longer tops - just look beyond the sequins and wear it as you would any other cardi - the beauty of this piece is that it can be dressed up or down... HTH

Hey Detroit...I really like that Free People cardi. It's still available on the Free People web site...but I'm long waisted and in the pictures it looks like it runs a little short. How do you find the length?

I was trying to find it and didn't think to look at the sale stuff (fortunately, I waited for it to go on sale, myself!) it does run a bit short - all the tops I wear under it are long - either brushing the top of my waistband or longer - it's a really cute look layering it over a longer top. The teal one I wear with it a lot has longer sleeves than the cardigan does - but it works, esp. since the cardigan is smaller than the top under it both in sleeve and hem length - does that make sense?
