I love the color but is the heel too chunky? They're on sale from $148 to $29.

yeah, i think so...sorry!  heels are such a killer, they can make a shoe look dated soo easily.  the color is very pretty though.

Love the color - but IMO the heel is too chunky, sorry!  It would have looked much better with a sculpted wooden heel - what were they thinking?

i feel like the chunky heel is destined to make a comeback. (i'm actually not kidding, it probably won't be the steve madden's of the 90's but in like 2 seasons or son i really feel like "chunky heels will be in.)

i like the color and i think that they would probably look cute under pants. but there is a reason they're on sale.

Well it is chunky, but it works on that shoe. I am weird about my heels and I like those a lot.

I do think it's chunky but...the price is right, they look comfortable, and other aspects of the shoe are nice(round toe, color, height)

I like them too and think they would look really cute opaque tights/pantyhose.  They need to be worn in a sort of funky way if not they could boarder drap IMO.

It is chunky.. but I think it goes with the shoes.. I probably would only wear this with pants.. The chunky heel makes it seem too dressy for a dress/skirt.

Unfortunately I agree.. I look at it and though it's a gorgeous color and well-made shoe, I have flashbacks. You know what though? I totally agree about chunky heels coming back in eventually -- i was just thinking today about how not everyone wore pointy-toe stilettos - those chunky heel quare toes were COOL. (I had the most heinous pair of open toe chunkers in BLACK CRUSHED VELVET. Omg. terrible!) But alas, someday I'll be saying that about my beloved stilettos....

PS: I've kind of changed my mind. Most of the time the reason I see chunky heels and think "heinous!" is because they're generally on a sadly outdated someone who is actually stuck in 1993. If I saw someone who clearly put together a really fun/cool/updated-looking outfit around them, I'd think it was really cool and gutsy!

I don't think the heel is too chunky and I like them. I agree with the girls who say chunky heels are going to be very popular again soon. This reminds me of a conversation I had with my mom the other day. We were discussing how pretty much EVERYTHING is in style right now (round toe, pointed toe, high heel, kitten heel, metallics). I think that you can pretty much get away with anything and I don't think these shoes look dated at all. The color updates them and I think they're fun. If you think you'll wear them, go for it.

I think the heel is chunky but it looks appropriate with the shoe, being that it is a round toe and all. Plus it's a really good price and a nice color. I don't think the protesters in the street will line up when they see you coming if you like it go for it.

if you are questioning the heel, i wouldn't buy them.  its the kind of thing where every time you put the shoes on, all you can see is this massive, fat, chunky heel and you end up taking them off and never wearing them -- at least that's what always happens to me if i am questioning something and buy it anyway.

but if you really like them and were just looking for some reinforcement, go for it.

IMO, i wouldn't wear them (for above reason) but would see them on someone else and think they're cute.

I totally agree with this. I think that as long as you put together a funky outfit, they won't look dowdy.

I agree with this - not the huge clunky heel of the past but chunkier than the stilettos we see so much of - I remember reading somewhere that this would be making a comeback this year. I also agree with the other posters that they would be great for a funky look... hmmm... maybe I need a pair too!

I agree with Detroit and Lilykind, I see them being kind of funky sophisticated, like with black pinstriped pants and fushia top.  They seem kind of Marc Jacobs-esque to me.  I say buy them, for that price you don't have much to lose.
