maybe it's the curse of mj...as soon as you say you don't like him, you find something you like. i don't know if there's a code, but it's a cute top. i think his tops run large (or at the very least true to size) and his bottoms run small (though i could just have a big ass)

Damn, now I'm confused (admittedly a common phenomenon). I am about a size 4 on top, but in a weirdly proportioned way. I have big boobs and a small waist. I'd say about a 34D to a 25 inch waist. Any recs on S or XS would be appreciated...cc???

i think the marc line runs small, even the tops. i would get a small if i were you, mia. although, i think i remember that you are a person who errs on the side of too big rather than too small (me too) so you could even go for the M. i've been looking at that top in red in my local neimans for about a month now--it's really cool and i love the bell-shaped sleeves. it's very 70s sonia rykiel. you should get it!

Bumblebee - I just found this at the NM website (exact same price as at Shopbop $228):

But...are these the same? The sleeves look much more bell-ed on the NM one, and the neck is wider. I'm going to have to e-mail Shopbop about this - I don't know if they pin their clothes back when they photograph the models or what but I have bought a number of things from them that look quite different when I get them. I like the Shopbop sweater but not the NM one - it's too loose for me and the neck is too wide.

So - who thinks they are the same sweater?

i haven't gotten my sweater yet but it should be arriving any day now so if you want to hold off for a bit i can let you know what the sizing is like. i remember trying some mj or marc stuff on before and it seemed to run really big, but i'm hoping this sweater fits ok.

I am *very* interested to hear about the sizing. I bet they have it pinned on the Shopbop model, which pisses me off. I ordered a (not cheap) shirt by Capital Tailors from them recently and it looked WAY different than it did in the pic - much looser/baggier. Damn them. Oh yeah - do these sweaters look the same to you??

oh, i must have posted after you found that neiman's picture. that's very odd.
i see on shopbop they call it the annabelle sweater and that's what they call it on saks too and it looks identical to the neiman's one.

well either shopbop's pinning or the model on the neiman's site is wearing a size up but i do think it's the same sweater. i'm going to neiman's tonight so i can check and see...if i ever get out of the office (argh, i've been procrastinating all day so now i have this pile of stuff just sitting on my desk mocking me...sadness

Yes, you two are right...it's the same sweater. I just e-mailed Shopbop with pics. The sleeve lengths look *much* different so Shopbop must have it pinned. That's so misleading

Just to add my two cents. I find that MJ tops run big. I am a size 2 on top, but with a 32D chest and I wear an XS in his shirts. I guess it just depends on how you want it to fit. If you get the larger size I was thinking the V might sit funny imho.

i think it is the same sweater--it just looks like the NM model is wearing it in a size that is slightly too big for her, plus her arms must be shorter than the other model's. mia, are you getting one? i have to put in my vote for the red--it's a really rich, pretty red in person.
