I never really cared for the italian charms, they were over done IMO.

What I still do like is the old fashioned charm bracelets that have the dangly little charms on them. There's something kind of sweet and nostalgic about those.

i never wanted one when they were all trendy a few years ago, but when my mom filled up hers she gave me the bracelet of links leftover (the idea is that once you get enough charms to complete a full bracelet, then you have a whole blank one to give to a friend).

i think it's fun to play with and collect the charms. i obviously do not wear it as a fashion statement, or to anywhere where i want to look current and hip, but i think it's kind of sweet and fun. i have two of the old-fashioned dangly bracelets, too--i think maybe i am just a charm person--i like them and i didn't really ever think it was super stylish, so in my mind it can't be really un-stylish either.

As someone who has lived in Phoenix all her life, I can tell you that once something's "big" here, it was definitely out of style years ago. This is evidenced by the clothes at Scottsdale Fashion Square (a.k.a. Juicy Tracksuit Heaven) and the awful style section in the Republic.

I'd put the bracelets away for a few more years at least.

I have a charm necklace in antiqued silver with purple stores I got at this small boutique in New York like this and I love it and always get compliments on it. I will wear it for as long as it lasts. To me, they're kinda timeless and a little sweet.

They never really caught on down where I'm from. Probably because it takes 5 years for a trend to make it to baton rouge. Our darn paper said in november that the biggest fashion trend for the winter was ponchos! C'mon! I saw them when I was in cali a few years ago and I liked the concept but it just seemed so darn expensive to me. The ones I had seen were $40 a link or something!
