STYLETHREAD -- LET'S TALK SHOP!

So I got this at the gap sale this weekend (in lilac), and I thought I remembered someone talking about it a long time ago on FH.  My question is what should I wear with it.  I was thinking jeans, but what should I wear underneath?  And shoes?  It's my first poncho, so I'm kinda clueless.  Thanks!
