Durable luggage rec's?
Permalink Closed

Hey everyone...i am looking to by my boyfriend luggage to use at his new job. He will be traveling a lot (on for 10 days, off for 4 for about 2 years) and needs some nice, durable luggage that will last him. Nothing too fancy and preferably under $300. He wants a big one that rolls (i dont know the exact name of those). Any rec's?? thanks!

Go look at T.J.Maxx or Marshalls for large luggage that's really inexpensive. They have some good name brands there so the quality is nice. I saw some Tumi there on great sale...

I used to be a luggage sales rep and I totally agree with fairywings-TJ Maxx/Marshall's is the best place to go and I also recommend Tumi.  Tumi is the "it" brand for road-warrior types.  Otherwise go with Victorinox Swiss Army (but make sure you get Victorinox not Wenger, which is sold at Wal-mart and Target) or Travelpro.  Another good place to look is Saks Off Fifth but try Marshalls/TJ's first.

I second Tumi luggage! DH and I both have it and my suitcase is really durable! Before I had my Tumi suitcase, I had American Tourister and it didn't hold up well to the abuse it suffered at the hands of baggage handlers.

I always go to TJ Maxx/Marshalls as well for my luggage. I travel quite a bit for work and I've got a delsey roller suitcase that has held up well for the past two years (probably used 1 time/month). My brother in law travels every week for work - he swears by his kenneth cole luggage that he has had for years and years.
