chandelier?
Permalink Closed

So I'm making a wishlist for my apartment - if I'm stuck living here for another year I'd like to enjoy it!  Hopefully I can get a thing or two off it for my birthday or who knows?
Anyway, I really really REALLY want a chandelier for over my dining table.  I have a very eclectic look to my apartment, I really love mixing things with intricate prints with very clean modern items - so I'm not looking for a traditional chandelier, but I do want the kind of bohemian/ urban princess-y I don't know how to describe look.  It doesn't have to be crystal or glass - Urban outfitters had one I drooled over called like raindrop chandelier or something like that, but I never bought it and they don't have it anymore!  It was made out of plastic or lucite I think - which is ok with me.
Although, if I was lucky enough to come across a real crystal one like at a yard sale or randomly, I like it for an ironic touch (does that make sense?)
Anyway - do you guys know how to find any actually pretty ones that aren't hundreds or thousands of dollars?  Like I said, it can even be plastic.  I don't like the ones Urban has right now and I want something with crystal-cut pendants so it really sparkles.  I'm thinking clear but I'm also open to colors.  I don't like ones with big round lightbulbs -
I'm having a hard time finding anything I like but here are some out of my range that I would probably like if they were magically under $50 -

Honestly, I'd first check out any thrift or antique stores near where you live. They ALWAYS have chandeliers.

I've had really good luck with lighting on eBay. If you find something you like at greatchandeliers.com, CALL them to order, don't order online. They are often out of items on their site but they don't bother to let you know.

Poshliving.com has a nice selection, but they aren't cheap.

This is $129 at Lampsplus.com - it has the little beads, but they're hard to see in the pic. (http://tinyurl.com/5k4hk6)

This little guy is $200 on final sale at BrocadeHome.com - which is half price and still steep IMO.

Keep in mind you can gussy up any thrift/antique store or eBay find with extra ropes, prisms, etc.:
