Okay so I am not fat or anything but I am not in shape.. I have been doing some stomach excersizes and leg excersizes but it dosent seem to work.. anyone know any good workout moves that REALLY work?

Try pilates. It's excellent for shaping muscles, fat or not.

Pushups are great for working both your upper body and your core. Hovers are awesome for your abs. Lunges and squats are great for your legs. What particular parts of your body are you trying to target?

I do a combination of weight training classes, power yoga, and spinning classes at my gym. That combo seems to be pretty effective for overall fitness and toning.

I love yoga.  It works your whole body and you get out of it what you put into it.

Get some 5 lb hand weights too for arms/back/chest work.  Lunges, squats and leg circles are great for legs/butt.  Bicycles and double crunches are good ab moves.

It may sound hokey, but those 8 minute workout DVDs really work. You can get them on Amazon for less than $10.

Farrah, do you use more than one type of these?  If so do you do two of the 8 minutes ones back to back?  Just curious because I need something fast because I lose interest really quickly.

Nunzi- I do 8-min abs and 8-min legs back to back. I do the legs first so when they get all tired, I can lay on the floor to do the abs! Since they're only about 50 second long exercises, one after another, it's hard to lose interest in them since you are switching from one to the other constantly.

Besides that, the guy who is the "instructor" is fabulous. You can spend all 8 minutes just laughing at him!

This is the exact same thing that I do.  It rocks!

RelRel - You are right.  The instructor guy rocks.  What is up with that black and white striped unitard thing he wears during the legs workout?!  It reminds me of Beetlejuice, HA!

Have you started saying his lines along with him? It's a sure sign that you've gone over the deep end. But I'm totally saying the lines with him!

I think they key to seeing results is tossing up your routine. If you "surprise" your muscles with new moves each time you work out, you will see results quicker. I use DVD's, go to group classes, and Self magazine has great workout tips and moves
