No suggestions on the dress, but I wouldn't wear white to a wedding. With all the other cute colors out there right now I would leave that for the bride. =)

agreed about white. And I know, it sucks - I've been shopping for a couple dresses for weddings lately (I need two because they're both with the same family!) and I keep lamenting that I can't get all the cute white ones I've found. sigh.

In that price range, I'd hit up the department stores around you. With sales and the sheer amount of choices, I bet you'd be able to find something that would work. I'd skip the white though, unless you know for sure the bride isn't wearing white.

Check target.com and forever21.com. I've seen cute dresses on both and they would fit your price range.

Try eBay - you can do a search for "black strapless" dress within that price range.

I wouldn't wear white to a wedding unless it had some other color in it. But solid white, no.

It is still considered poor taste to wear white (even cream) to weddings. That seems to be the only rule that people pay attention to anymore...

I think your idea of black strapless is fabulous since you can accessorize it in very different ways. Ditto what Blubirde said about department stores. Dillards has a few in the $40-60 range on the web.

That's probably nicer than this at Windsor ($60) -

I would go to Marshalls or TJ Maxx and scour the dress racks -- I've found some beautiful dresses there in your price range.

ditto on the "no white" too - but that's solid white - if you have a pattern on the dress that incorporates white with other colors, that's ok - just no solid white.
