I signed up for a 5K walk, the March of Dimes "March for Babies," and I have never done anything like this before. I have no idea what to wear! It is at the end of April in Chicago, so I know I have to dress for the weather--which I just have to wait and see what it will be like since it is so unpredictable around here, but am I supposed to wear street clothes or workout clothes?? I was thinking about wearing a pair of sweatpant-type capris with a tank and long-sleeve T, jacket/sweatshirt if needed, and my Pumas. Is this okay? What do people normally wear to these events?
that would be perfect as long as your pumas are good walking shoes, obviously!

We walk in the Y-Me and Susan G Komen races every year and we just wear jeans. Of course, we don't really do it for competition as we walk with G's whole family and his mom's friends...yeah, it is pretty much just a nice long walk in Grant Park for us. I do suggest layering though because it can seem really cool down there when you first report and then it warms up within an hour. Gotta love Chicago weather!
