How to clean brightly colored leather bags?
Permalink Closed

I bought a bright red Hayden Harnett hobo LAST WEEK and already it is showing minor stains, one looks like it brushed against a newspaper or dark fabric and another looks like I didn't wash my hands after applying concealer...

Since I spent half a months rent on this, figuring it would last me a lifetime, I'm slightly freaking out.  On the website, it says to use a high quality cleaner like Coach's on "scuff marks" and also recommends Magic Erase.  I am hesitant because 1) it is such a bright color, I have used saddle soap in the past and saw color run and texture change and 2) I dont have scuff marks.

Any advice?

I am not going to have it professionally cleaned considering its a week old.  TIA!

Would a neutral leather creme darken where you apply it?  The Magic Eraser thing sounds scary on such a brightly colored bag.  It's just a butter, soft leather- -right?

I am so not taking any chances with this one bc I ruined the last one with saddle soap.

NO ONE HAS A BRIGHT BAG? I find this hard to believe.

My HH bag came with care instructions. I can't find the card at the moment, but if I do, I'll post it.
