Has anyone gone through a Detox "Diet"?  I'm thinking seriously about trying one.  Just not exactly sure what's the best thing to do.  I'm not really trying this to lose weight, I'm really needing it to "feel" better.  I went on vacation a couple weeks ago and totally went off my diet.  Vacationing for us means eating really GOOD food that's not really good for you! I still feel so full and bloated!ashamed

Most 'detox' diets are really harsh on your body and metabolism.

I think eating 'clean' for a week would accomplish the same thing and be healthier in terms of balanced nutrition and still being able to have some energy.  Most 'clean' diets omit all processed foods and most fats/caffeine/dairy/white sugar/flour, etc.  Lots of raw or lightly steamed veggies, fruit, plain whole grains, grilled lean white meat or fish, etc.

I've been eating like this ("clean") for several weeks now, and I feel so much better.  It took about a week or two to feel this way completely.  I think one or two days of a liquid fast to jumpstart the process is valuable too.  I would not do it for more than two days.  In addition to not eating processed foods, I have eliminated many foods that can cause excessive growth of yeast in the system, as well as foods that tend to be less likely to cause allergic reactions.

If you have any specific questions about the book I'm following, PM me.
