Workout Challenge Check In
Permalink Closed

Just wanted to check in to see how everyone's been doing.  I was sick (flu, followed by bronchitis) and really got off track, but I got better and have been doing well.  I started weight watchers about two weeks ago and I've lost about six pounds so far, which is very motivating.  I haven't really been doing workout rewards because just earning the extra activity points from exercise has been working well for me.

How about everyone else?

I just started exercising again this week when I realized that a couple pairs of my jeans no longer fit: YIKES!! I did 20 minutes on the elliptical while I watched The Biggest Loser on Tuesday (great motivation, huh?) and the BF and I did 8 minute legs and abs last night. I am planning on stepping it up a notch this weekend thoughbiggrin.gif.

I started back up on Weight Watchers online since last week and have only lost 2.5 pounds (hopefully 3 by the end of the week).  I have been working out 5 days a week for an hour (30 min on ecliptical and 30 on the step mach.).  I'm really getting discouraged because I have been pushing myself really hard and expected to lose more.  However, I'm going to keep it up...I have about 10lbs to lose.  I'm sick of wearing stretch jeans and skirts! I wanna wear my size 2s now! LOL

I'm like you, TST. I was ill with the flu and all that comes with it for a couple weeks. I'm not completely back up to speed - leftover asthma from the flu is hindering my cardio ability but I've got my inhaler in hand and hitting the gym as often as I can. I'm not as successful as I was before the flu (time or intensity) but I'm still there. Monday I'm starting back on my weekly tennis sessions (cardio tennis twice a week, lesson once a week, etc.), so I'm hoping that will make a difference.

I'm counting points as well and I've lost 0 pounds, even though I spent almost an entire week eating nothing at all. I don't understand but as long as I stay within my points and workout, I'm not going to fixate on it too much. At least not right this second. If things don't start happening in a few weeks I'm going to go apeshit crazy. smile.gif

Well, I missed ONE day during my 18 day non-stop stint of exercising, but I've been exercising as much as I can.

The weekends have been tough for me (Friday - Sunday), just because I putz around and by the time I want to work out (or by the time I stop procrastinating) it's too late.  This weekend, I want to make sure that I do not pass go and go straight to my basement gym when I wake up - just like I do on weekdays...

Oh - and 10 lbs lost so far... it's been coming off veeery slowly...

I fell off the wagon in a major way on my trip to Switzerland, and got my ass whupped on my first day of return to training. But I think my fitness is coming back, slowly but surely, and I'm trying to be better about following the training schedule. The problem is I think this coach is a bit of an idiot, and I don't like his training schedule. I also joined Weight Watchers last week and I lost 2.2 lbs in a week. It was more than that, but I had a couple of "bad" days. I'm just finding it's reeeeaaaally hard to stick to it when I don't get home from work/training until 9pm, or when I'm STARVING after training. Then of course, there are all the very naughty snacks at my office. Also, I think my weight loss is slowed down by the fact that I'm building up muscle.

Anyway, pants are fitting slightly better, and some of the fat around my middle has gone away. Oh, AND I can fit one of my favorite bras again. Yay!
