I'm in love with the Spring collection of shoes from Prada. These are my favorite. Are they totally impractical since they are just so interesting? Should I get them or pass and buy a pair I'll get more wear out of?

I do love those shoes too. I'd be liable to put them in a dsiplay case when not in use, but I think they could offer a lot to simple outfits.

esquiress, they seem to be sold out online, but i saw them at a local boutique. (def not in my budget!)

here is the link on neimans if you want to either stalk it, or call around nm for them to locate you a pair.

These are beautiful, I've actually tried them on but I'm refusing to buy any more black shoes anymore because I have so many pairs of them!

Which pair are you talking about? The Prada's I posted I just tried on at saks on Michigan Ave. I'd call their shoe department and ask for Abdul ( he's my shoe guy and he's fantastic and really helpful!) and see if he can track them down for you!

These novelty shoes seem like a great thing to wear if you are attending a special event during which you are in a beautiful hotel the whole time.  I would want to step only on indoor surfaces with these.

Love those Ruthie Davis and Chie Mihara ones.

esquiress, i saw them at a boutique called choices in pittsburgh. they do charge sends. (412) 687-7600. i am not sure they still have the shoes, as i saw them there a bit ago, though.

I'm talking about the flower stem stiletto heel.  I just called the Prada store in BH, they have them but not in my size.  They have them in another color (coral, like the top of the flower) in my size so I'm going to try those on and see if I still want to track down the black ones.  Because you never know with peep toes--sometimes they show too much toe, sometimes too little, sometimes they just look wrong and you can't figure out why...

anyway, I'll let you know how it goes!

oh and Collette so sorry to hijack your thread, but I'm with Erin, I didn't react violently but my first thought was "so not feeling those, and usually I love Collette's picks"

I tell people that I collect shoes instead of coins/stamps.  If you can afford them and love them, I would get them only if to look at them.  That is no more impractical that buying a painting to hang on the wall.  It just hangs there.  These could be used to decorate a table in a bedroom.  Why not?  Hmmm, I have just given myself another reason to buy shoesbiggrin  I do like the ones erin posted better though.  They are absolutely gorgeous!!!
