I'm actually going to DC to visit a close friend, which is the opposite of what you are supposed to do for spring break because DC has worse weather than CA where I live :)

What is this spring break you speak of? I know nothing of wonderous trips to amazing places.

But I did have a most engaging trip into the back of my mind last week while I was delirious from a flu-induced high fever. And last night was a unique visit to the land of crazy dreams brought on by codeine-laced cough syrup.

I bet real vacations like the ones real boys and girls go on are fun too.

Reason #48376 why Blubirde is awesome beyond awesome.

Oh, and does a trip home to Lancaster, PA for an Amish Auction (actually called "The Mud Sale" count?  Cause I'm totally doing that this weekend.

In my world, that totally counts. Do they really sell mud?

Nope, no mud selling, unfortuantely. Lots of quilts and wooden furniture though. Apparently it always rains the weekend of the big sale so the field it's held in is a mud pit. Here's some pictures for your amusement!

Oh man. Between these and those pics of Obama sitting on a tractor at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, I'm totally nostalgic for my country roots. Too bad the family reunion isn't until June...

I bet there's lots of good foods on sticks though. That's an excellent consolation prize, no?

There's actually some amazing food at these places. Not just the fried such and such on a stick or fried egg sandwiches but pies and more pies and maybe some more pies.

Maybe I'll take my mom's fancy computer and get lots of action shots of the Amish trying to outbid eachother for a broom from 1934.

Haha! You definitely should take pics. Isn't it anti-Amish to be so consumerist? Would they think you're stealing their souls if you took pics? Am I being too insensitive to the Amish folk? Maybe I'm thinking of Quakers??
