What to do with my color - pics included
Permalink Closed

I went blonde about six weeks ago and I'm starting to look like a skunk. I love it, but doing it was a mistake because I don't have the time/money for frequent salon visitis right now.   At home root touch ups are out of the question - that scares the hell out of me! In the past I've had good results with DIY highlighting kits. Will I be okay with heavy highlights every four weeks or so or will I still be too patchy at the root? I'm afraid that if i go brown I'll turn green or fade too fast, and I've also thought about red, but of course I don't want to end up pink. Has anyone maintained blonde or gone from blonde to dark at home?

The first pic is my natural color, the second is the current color.

I do not have any advice about home coloring but I just wanted to say I love your hair brown

I love the blonde!
I do my own blonde at home. My natural color isn't as dark as as your though, more of a dull ash brown. I love the stuff I use because it gives you lots of natural looking highlights, even my hairdresser didn't realize it was colored.

Thanks guys! I've decided I'm not quite ready to go darker yet and don't want the trouble of messing with it at home- I'm shopping around for a more affordable salon/stylist.

I'd stay blonde, but maybe tone it down a bit as it appears to be washing you out a bit. Also, if you go a bit darker blonde or break it up with low-lights, you can go longer in between salon visits.

I was going to say the same thing if you want to stay blonde-get some lowlights.  This way your blonde will "pop" against the dark and it isn't so high-maintenence...

Thanks guys, lowlights are a good idea. I'm new to this and I hadn't thought of that. I'm still looking for a new stylist, hopefully I can get in this week. Thanks again!
