does anyone know anything about moths???

Ok so I have one sweater and two pairs of gloves that have been attacked by moths!  Not horrible the holes are small and possibly repairable (does anyone know anything about that?) but still!

And I am moving out of the guest house where I live (thank the lord) and into a super nice apt. complex but now I am afraid the moth(s) will migrate with me!

Any advice on what I should do to prevent the moth migration?  Do they lay eggs in clothes or something?

First, I'd unfold everything and take a close look.  IIRC they make little cocoon looking things on the clothes, often in creases - so pick those off!

Then I'd go get some cedar blocks (they have them at Bed bath and beyond, etc) and distribute them around in your closet (especially on higher shelves where things aren't disturbed as much) and in any boxes of clothes you're storing.  The blocks can be reactivated (every 6 months or so) by sanding lighty with a fine-grit sandpaper.

HTH and that you're able to get your clothes repaired!

I'd put the sweaters in the freezer for a few days. 72 hours in the freezer will kill any remaining moths regardless of where they are in their life cycle. If possible, I'd also freeze any wool fabric that was stored with or near the damaged sweaters.

I have heard that clothes have to be cleaned before they are stored.  Apparently, moths have a thing for sweat.    ashamed

Clean clothes, coupled with the cedar, should keep them away.
